Someone Has Committed Copyright Infringement Against My Website, What Should I Do?

July 16th, 2009 at 04:28am Under copyright infringement

Someone has committed copyright infringement against my website. They said that they copyrighted my company’s name, By Teens 4 Teens, and are going to sell it for $3500 to a magazine company.
He says that he’s a lawyer and a website designer, although, I’m not sure if that’s valid information or not, however, he has committed copyright infringement against myself and my company by using my company’s name.
What should I do?

Trademark & Copyright Law Against Products?

July 12th, 2009 at 04:26pm Under trademark law

Why is that some products are identically similar but are still being sold?
For instance -
Vasaline Lotion/moisturizer product looks similar to CVS brand (same bottle color same color combination e.t.c)
Head & Shoulder Shampoo Similar to CVS brand.
Multivitamins bottle
Honda Accord 2004 design similar to Hyundai Sonata 2004 design only diffrent is the logo and little changes on the body kit and lights.
Nike Hats being sold in gas stations but they aren’t Original Nike Hats made by some unknown company
Some MP3 Players are identically similar but diffrent names.
I know some what the law was if an item is identically similar to another then their is a copyright or trademark infringement. But how is that these companies get away with it. What’s the law in terms of reality e.t.c
Thanks

Would It Be Against Copyright/trademark Laws To Name A Bath And Body Business The Same As A Movie Title?

July 11th, 2009 at 10:26pm Under trademark law

I don’t really want to say here what movie it is, but it’s a pretty simple name, only 2 words and they are not unique words. So would this be a violation? I did a search with the trademark website and no one has trademarked this particular name for bath and body products or anything similar. Although, there is a drape company with the same name.

How Do You Protect Writing Put On A Website Against Copyright Infringement?

July 9th, 2009 at 04:28am Under website copyright

I want to protect some of the original writing on my website & was wondering how to do this…
a)Can I put the Copyright notation on it without revealing my real name?
b)How do I have proof that it is my original work? How about saving the writing in MS Word?
c)Is there any point in filing for a copyright on the writings/website?

Is Putting Information From A Book On My Website Against Copyright Laws?

July 8th, 2009 at 10:27pm Under website copyright

I’m wanting to make a “home imporvment” website with tips on decorating, home, garden, health, crafts–that sort of stuff. Would it be against copyright laws if I put stuff I got from books on my website? Would it matter if I didn’t write it “word for word”? I was also thinking I would put on my website the reference of the book that way whoever is reading it will know I didn’t make anything up. Please give me an idea of what to do if it is against the law.
