Is There A Specific Legal Document Stating Torrents/emulation Illegal, Even If It Is Copyright?

July 15th, 2009 at 10:23am Under copyright act

I’ve yet to have been given sound proof its illegal besides moral evidence. I’ve recently erased all such programs and am curious, what legal document actually states that? I read over the Millenium Copyright Act and only could get from it that it was illegal to make or distribute anything meant to bypass a copyright restriction…
Help?

Is It Copyright Infringement To Sell Designer Inspired Jewelry, Even If You Clearly Label It As ‘fake’?

July 12th, 2009 at 04:28pm Under copyright infringement

My partner and I are planning to open a “designer inspired” jewelry/accessory store in arizona state. The product that we’ve already received is really good, the logos look completely real, but we will clearly label each piece as “Replica,” “Fake,” or “Designer Inspired.” Is it copyright infringement to sell this jewelry? Are we breaking any other laws?

Why Do Games Have Increasingly Stricter Copyright Protection, Even Though They Never Stop Piracy?

July 8th, 2009 at 10:25am Under copyright protection

No matter what game companies do to protect their games from piracy, it never seems to work. Spore was given more copyright protection than I think I ever heard of for a game. (thinks the 3 install limit), yet it was cracked almost as soon as it was released.
Meanwhile, the paying customer gets inconvenienced and treated like a criminal. So my question is, if copyright protection measures don’t work, why are the game companies still implementing them? The pirates will still find a way around them and frustrated gamers may not even buy the product.
