Under trademark law
I want to use the word FICO in my company’s domain name (example – www.ficosRcool.com) but it is a registered trademark. I know that I cannot use the trademark in my company’s name but am I breaking trademark law by using the word FICO in my domain?
Thanks guys!

Someone told me it’s because Pepsi owns Coke. True? If not then how can they get around the trademark laws when you see a coke truck, or hat, or can in the Pepsi commercials?

Trademarks and copyrights are two different things.
Potentially your use of a registered trademark (albeit with 2 letters missing) could be classed as a trademark violation.
It would depend on a number of things though such as using the same design, if the word is obviously recognisable as the original trademark etc etc.
If it is done in a way in which potential customers would be “confused” etc.
