July 18th, 2009 at 10:27pm Under website copyright

I have a question on this my friend! As a website owner is it Ok for me to get excerpts from other websites as long as I give them credit for their work on my website or will that infringe copyright? For example I grab a summary on business conditions currently in the US from cnn and place it on my website and then in the bottom it will say something like ” source, cnn.com” is that ok?

How Do You Copyright Your Website In Canada?

July 9th, 2009 at 10:27pm Under website copyright

I’ve been to the website where they have the forms and all, but I didn’t find information on how to register both the text and the images in a website. Should they be registered separately?
Also, who would own which parts of the website? By this, I mean, should the website’s developer copyright the code used to create the website and should the client copyright the text and images displayed?
What if the developer created images for the site?
Thanks!
