What Are The Laws On Parodying And Copyright Infringement?

I am filming a public service announcement parodying Reefer Madness and wanted to know what is considered copyright infringement. Could I get away with using the “yours, yours, or yours!” quote? Or would I have to be a little less specific on what I’m parodying?

Parodies are protected under federal copyright law under the “fair use” exception, as I recall. As long as it’s intended as a parody, then you should be able to use one or more of the elements of the copyrighted material.
    Good luck. Make it funny!
