BERORE i submit them for possible publishing. one is a short story, the other is a “coffee table” book of photographs.

    oldest way is to send your self a sealed copy by certified mail and DON”T open it, it is called a mail copyright

    Although the copyright laws make no provision for it, a “Poor Mans” copyright is quite common, that is mailing a CERTIFIED copy of your work to yourself. It does NOT grant you a registered copyright, but DOES give you proof of origination if the need arises.
    note- original works are automatically protected by copyright law from the time of creation, registering is usually only nessecery in cases of infringement.

    mail a copy of it to yourself in a sealed, dated envelope
