Where Do I Start? I Need To Find An Intellectual Property / Entertaiment Attorney?

I am an entertainment personality known as The Russian Queen of Balloons. I am a popular live performance artist. My blog: http://mylifeandart.typepad.com
I twist balloon art live during events. You can read media articles about me on the left side of my page under ‘Press Coverage’ (click on the blue links, each is a press story)
I want to find an intellectual property (entertainment) attorney who would advise me on how I can leverage my brand, The Russian Queen of Balloons, and cross over into: 1) product development under my brand name and/or endorsement of a product or service; and/or licensing of my “name and personality”.
What are the ways that I can use to find an honest, well-connected intellectual property / entertainment attorney?

IP attorneys are really goods at filing things. All they will do is charge you $100s of dollars per hour to tell you to register a trademark, which you can do yourself.
What you need is a business development consultant. An attorney will give you tools and documents and possibly help negotiate deals that are already on the table, but attorneys normally do not go out, pound the pavement, dream up of ideal partnerships and develop the relationship.
You’ll save yourself a lot of money by finding these deals yourself and then engaging an attorney at the appropriate time to help you close it.

Try http://www.legalzoom.com – can maybe save some money too! I haven’t used them myself but seems like quite a good deal and contact details as well.

Try the following links below. They are all attorneys that should be able to handle your case. Best thing to do is read over a few of their websites and make a decision on a few to call. Hire who you feel most comfortable with. Good luck
