Specifically, when I have to ask permission from, say, Coca-Cola to use their brand names (Coca-Cola Classic, C2, Dasani) on my webpage. I have already searched the US Patent and Trademark Office. Would a lawyer be my best source?
Under trademark law

It sounds like you’re wanting to license. Most large companies have a licensing department. You can reach Coca-Cola business section at http://www.coke.net
I put a link to trademark resource information in the source box.
Hope that helps!

You would have to contact each company’s public relations or sales departments individually.
